Notice your rhythm
Map your energy and build a manageable morning start.
An eight-week programme for energy, daily rhythm, and recovery. This is not a diet plan; it is a practical exploration of movement, rest, and food timing in your own life.
Metabolism is not a speed setting. It is not something you are born with — fast or slow — that decides your weight and energy for life. It is an adaptive system that responds to how you move, breathe, eat, sleep, and how stressed you are — which means it can change.
If the jagged line looks like your afternoon, the problem is not willpower — it is a rhythm that borrows energy instead of building it.
Metabolism & Vitality works on four systems simultaneously — because metabolic health is not one system. It is the output of several systems working in concert, and desk-bound chronic stress disrupts all of them at once.
Movement timing, not just movement. Exercise alone does not reset a disrupted metabolism — when you move matters as much as how. Ten minutes of the right movement in the morning sets your energy for the day; five minutes at 2pm stops the afternoon dip becoming a cliff. This programme places movement at the exact points your energy map shows you need it — not at a gym schedule's convenience.
Breath as a lever. Slow, deep breathing shifts the body out of stress mode and into the state where digestion and energy processing actually work. The breath doesn't burn calories — it creates the conditions under which your metabolism can function normally.
Nutrition aligned to biology, not ideology. This programme does not prescribe a diet. It applies Ayurvedic nutritional principles — time-of-day eating patterns, digestive capacity mapping, and food-as-information — adapted for the reality of a professional schedule. The emphasis is on when and how you eat, not what you eliminate. Soma holds a Certificate in Food and Nutrition (IGNOU) alongside her yoga and fitness qualifications — the guidance is informed, not improvised.
Your body clock as the multiplier. Everything in this programme works better when your daily rhythm is intact. Digestion peaks in the morning and winds down at night, and sleep is when the body does its deepest repair. Lining your day up with these rhythms is the single highest-leverage change most professionals can make — and it costs nothing except awareness.
Eight weeks, one system at a time. Open any week for the detail. Your free introductory class walks through the full plan.
Before any practice, we look at what is actually happening: when you eat and what happens after, how you sleep, when you move (or don't), what your caffeine pattern looks like, and what your body has been telling you that you've learned to ignore. Most clients discover their metabolism isn't slow — it's out of rhythm. And rhythm can be restored.
Your body has a built-in wake-up system — a natural surge of energy in the first half hour of the day. In most chronically stressed professionals it has gone flat, which is why mornings don't work without caffeine. Week 2 starts restoring it, with a short morning routine of movement, breath, and sunlight that wakes the body up the way it was designed to wake up.
Sitting for five-plus hours tells the body one thing: conserve. Energy drops, digestion slows, storage mode kicks in — and no evening gym session fully reverses eight hours of that signal. Week 3 places short bursts of movement — five to ten minutes — at the exact times your energy map showed you crash. For most people, the make-or-break moment is 2pm.
Your digestion is strongest in the morning and weakest at night — so a 9pm dinner is processed by the least capable machinery of the day. Week 4 restructures your timing, not dramatically but precisely: when you eat, how much light you get in the evening, and when you sleep. Small 15–20 minute shifts that compound over weeks, because they work with your biology instead of against it.
This programme does not prescribe a diet. Soma does not tell you what to eat. She teaches you to understand what your digestive system is communicating and how to respond to it.
Drawing on Ayurvedic principles, Week 5 teaches you to read your own digestion: when it is strong (usually late morning to early afternoon), when it is weak (early morning, late evening), and how to match what you eat to what your body can actually process. The result is not a meal plan — it is a set of principles you can apply in any restaurant, any kitchen, any work canteen.
Digestion only works properly when the body feels calm. You can eat the most nutritious food available and absorb a fraction of it if you eat in survival mode. Week 6 places short breathing practices at the moments that matter most — a couple of quiet minutes before meals, and a longer practice at the end of the workday that draws the line between work and evening.
Sleep is not separate from metabolism — it is when the body does its deepest repair. When sleep is broken by stress, screens, or late eating, you start the next day in deficit. Week 7 introduces deep guided rest as both a sleep-preparation practice and a midday recovery tool, with a personalised 20-minute recording made for you.
Week 8 is not a conclusion — it is the design of a system you can keep. Everything that worked best for you over the previous seven weeks is distilled into three daily anchors: a morning start, a midday reset, and an evening close. Together, under 30 minutes — and each can shrink to a few minutes on days when the schedule collapses.

"Her emphasis on appropriate and healthy diet has made me wonder about her ability to be a nutritionist as well. A very important aspect of Soma's fitness hour is her intention to take every participant along, and adapting the exercises to suit all. She has been a boon to our fitness hour."
