Emotional Regulation Support

You don't need to have it figured out.
You just need to arrive.

No crisis required. No diagnosis needed. No script to prepare. A space where someone listens without agenda — and what you say stays in that room.

Emotional regulation support

A space to be heard.

Confidential 1:1 sessions for anyone carrying something they haven't been able to put down. Not therapy in the clinical sense. Not coaching with goals and metrics. A space to be heard, to understand what you're feeling, and to find ground beneath it.

Supportive listening and practical tools

"Some of the most important work I have done in nearly 30 years has not been about the body at all. It has been about sitting with someone and listening — without trying to fix, without prescribing, without rushing. People carry so much more than they show. I created this space because I kept meeting people who needed it and had nowhere to go."

— Soma Mukherjee
A quiet armchair beside a garden window — a calm space for conversation

This is not therapy. Soma is not a clinical psychologist and does not diagnose or treat mental health conditions. If you need clinical care, she will tell you — directly and without judgement — and help you find the right professional.

What this is: a confidential space where you can speak about what you're carrying — anxiety, emotional weight, relationship difficulty, grief, life transitions, the quiet exhaustion of managing everything for everyone — with a practitioner who combines supportive listening with gentle, practical tools for the mind and body.

Some people come because they are overwhelmed but cannot articulate why. Some come because they are managing well on the outside but know that managing is not the same as being well. Some come because they tried therapy and it didn't feel right, or because they are not sure therapy is what they need, or because they just want to talk to someone who is not a friend, not a family member, and not attached to any outcome.

All of those are enough reason to be here.

The sessions are structured gently. Soma listens first — for as long as you need. When it is appropriate, she helps you see patterns in your thinking that may be adding weight, notice where your body is holding what your mind has not processed, and find a little distance from the thoughts that feel like they are you — but are not.

Nothing in these sessions is forced. You set the pace. You decide what to share. You decide when to come back.

Above the waterline, what people see: composed, capable, "fine, just busy". Below it, what is often carried alone: tiredness sleep doesn't fix, background worry, decisions carried alone, and changes or losses not yet spoken about. What people see“Fine. Just busy.”the waterlinethe tiredness thatsleep doesn't fixworry that humsin the backgrounddecisions carriedalonea change, or a loss, not yet spoken aboutMost of the weight sits where no one is looking. A place to set some of it down.
The permission

"You don't need to answer these. Just notice if any of them are true."

"I have been carrying something that I haven't said out loud yet."

Most people carry it longer than they need to. Not because they are weak — because they haven't found a space where it felt safe enough to set down.

"I find it hard to explain how I feel, even to people I trust."

You don't need to explain it before you arrive. That is what the session is for — to find the words together, or to discover that sometimes words are not what is needed.

"I am managing. But managing is not the same as being well."

Managing takes enormous energy. And it is invisible to everyone around you because you are so good at it. The exhaustion of managing is real — and it deserves attention, not just endurance.

"I would like to talk to someone, but I am not sure what I would say."

You do not need to know what to say. Soma does not need a prepared explanation. She needs you to show up. The rest happens in the room.

"I don't need a diagnosis. I need to be heard."

Then this is the right place. No assessment. No label. No treatment plan. Just someone who listens with full attention and without an agenda.

Session rhythm

How the Sessions Work

Every session is different because every person is different. But the structure holds a gentle shape:

You talk. Soma listens.

For the first part of every session, you set the direction. You can start with something specific or start with silence. There is no intake form to fill, no structured questionnaire, no prompts you are required to respond to. You begin wherever you are.

Patterns become visible.

When it is appropriate — and only when it is appropriate — Soma may reflect back a pattern she has noticed in what you are describing. A thought loop. A physical response. A belief you are holding as fact that might be something else. It is offered gently — never imposed, never prescribed.

The body is included.

Emotional weight lives in the body as much as the mind. Tension in the chest, tightness in the throat, the inability to breathe deeply when certain topics arise — these are not coincidences. Soma may invite you to notice where your body responds during the conversation. This is not a physical practice session. It is an awareness that the body is speaking, and learning to listen to what it says.

You decide what happens next.

At the end of each session, there is no homework. No mandatory next appointment. No progress report. You decide whether to return, when to return, and what to bring when you do.

The work

The Shape of the Work

The first session

You arrive with whatever you have. Soma does not ask you to fill anything in advance. The first 10–15 minutes are yours — to talk, to explain, to sit in silence until you find where to begin. The rest of the session follows your lead. By the end, you will know whether this space feels right. If it does, you come back. If it does not, that is entirely okay.

The ongoing sessions

There is no fixed number of sessions. Some people come for four. Some come for four months. The rhythm is yours to set. What typically happens over time is that the things you were carrying begin to take a shape you can see more clearly — and once they have a shape, they become lighter. Not because they disappear. Because they are no longer invisible.

The relationship with other programmes

Some people come to counselling alongside Sleep Restore or Stress Reset — because sleep problems and chronic stress often have an emotional layer that breathwork and movement alone cannot reach. If Soma senses that your situation would benefit from one of the other programmes, she will mention it. But there is no cross-selling in these sessions. This space is protected from the rest of the platform. What happens here stays here.

Confidentiality

A space held with care

Everything said in these sessions is strictly confidential. Soma does not share session content with anyone — not with your employer, not with your family, not with anyone else on the Body Breath Well platform.

The one exception, which Soma will state clearly at the start of your first session: if there is a credible risk of harm to yourself or to others, Soma may need to suggest emergency support. This is a duty of care, not a breach of trust.

Soma Mukherjee is a trained practitioner offering emotional regulation support — not a licensed clinical psychologist. This is not psychotherapy. It does not diagnose or treat mental health conditions and is not a substitute for clinical care. Where clinical support is appropriate, Soma will tell you directly and refer you to the right professional.

Questions

What people ask before reaching out.

Is this therapy?
No. Soma is a trained practitioner offering emotional regulation support, not a licensed clinical psychologist. This is not psychotherapy — she does not diagnose mental health conditions or provide clinical treatment. If your situation requires clinical care, she will tell you — without judgement — and refer you to the right professional. What she offers is a confidential, skilled listening space combined with gentle, practical tools for the mind and body.
What if I don't know what to talk about?
That happens more often than you might think. You do not need a prepared topic, a clear problem, or an explanation of why you're here. Many people begin by saying "I'm not even sure what I need" — and that is a perfectly good place to start. The session follows you.
Will my employer or anyone else know I'm using this service?
No. Sessions are booked directly with Soma. No information is shared with any employer, HR department, or anyone else — regardless of whether you found Body Breath Well through a corporate programme. The booking, the session content, and your decision to return are entirely private.
